Looking back at older work #12

Nebraska State Capitol, Lincoln, Nebraska, Aug. 2001
Not sure about now, but 6 years ago the cafeteria in the Nebraska State Capitol had some very large photographs of the state up on the walls. The landscape behind a 16 year old Wakako and her classmate whose name I forgot (Yuki?) is of the Nebraska Sandhills.
You could say that the punchline of this picture overwhelms it’s content but I’d argue that same visual gag is the content.
Simulacra and Simulation.
The thing to realize is that that background is the background of every photograph.
