the circle of life

keeps going around, and this here is as good of an example as any:

Yesterday was the Senshu 2006 Fall program welcome party for the 35 or 40 international exchange students who will be studying there until December. I said some words and made a fool of myself, which just seems to happen when I have a mic in my hands.
After the official welcome party everyone moves down to the Kenshukan for another meet and greet party. A semester of Wonder and all that awaits them.
The Nebraska contingent of students came out to my school Saturday to check out the School Festival and after that we went to Shimokitazawa for some dope Okonomiyaki. Learning from a miatake last year (in terms of not showing some people the place earlier on in their stay) last night I took some students to a great ramen shop near Mukogaoko Yuen station:

That is for you Mr. Mattson.

  3. The S and A keys are so close together.

Justin, you need/ought to come here and visit. Good food and good photographs are to be had.

  4. I can’t freaking wait to come and visit! Maybe over the summer, if I can swing it financially. Japan has been one of my dream destinations for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I even wanted to be Japanese.
