Andrew, I shot these pictures with a Nikon F3 and a Cosina Voigtlander 40mm f2 SL lens. On this trip that is the only camera that I used (well, had an sx-70 with me too) and to make things interesting I shot as much as I could at f2, which is easy with Portra 160 film. But for some reason, of all those narrow depth of field shots, the one of Chikako taking our group photo came out like that. Must be the lens… I don’t know but I sure like it.
It’s interesting to me how Portra 160 (with the help of your lens, perhaps) renders sunlight green and artificial (tungsten?) light a more normal colour temperature. Was it expired?
