baby film: gone forever.
fuji presto 400 film: 20 packs are 1000 yen more expensive. 10 packs are 4000 yen even.
This was not what I wanted. But looks like I will figure out how to bulk load my own film and SAVE SAVE SAVE

I was thinking how continue are lots of record players being used still today. Without too much trouble, if you live in a decent enough sized town with a record shop and hipster scene, you can probably still buy actual record albums, even new ones. This is even easier with an internet connection. From what I have seen, a new Vinyl Record is not all that much more expensive than CDs of the same album. I would bet vital organs of my body that there have been more film cameras made throughout history than record players, and even more film camera hobbist/users than there are audiophiles who scratch build their hi-fi systems.
Yes, this is an exercise in trying to make myself feel beter. What I am saying is that there is no way that film will be impossible to get in the next few decades. And I doubt that it will get too much more expensive.. at least thats what I am hoping. Like gasoline, it will never again be as cheap as it is right now though.
And yes I am looking for a used bulk film loader. I thought I had one in Nebraska but I could not find it. New ones go for 8000 yen at Yodobashi and I want to find one for cheaper than that.
I have mentioned Daisuke Mitsuhashi before, but if you have not seen his photographs yet, then I suggest that you do. He bought my Leica M6, and got the faulty light meter reparied for 20,000 yen. Inccidently, I just got my MP back from the shop- it’s faulty electronics were repaired under Map Camera’s 6 month warranty- at a cost of 38,000 yen to that store.
Anyways, Daiskue told me he only fairly recently got into photography (With a bessa R(?), I think) and he already is making some very interesting work. Bookmark his flickr page and his blog, and check back often.
At Yodobashi the other day, I saw this film:

It says, “Baby Film” and, “A kiss on the cheek”. Under the price tag, “Baby’s beautiful skin color”
Despite not having any children of my own, I went ahead and purchased 3 packs. 260 yen will get you 3 rolls of baby film. I don’t know what to expect, and since I don’t have anyone who wants to show me some skin, even to photograph, this film will be shot at subjects other than which the makers had intended. It is made by Konica, and seeing as how they are soon to be out of the photo business, I hope I do not get too attached to Baby Film.
I .. . I just can’t bear to lose another film so close to my heart..
good bye sx-70 film, I will miss you.

When I go on walks I have a Nikon or my Leica around my neck loaded with black and white film, a Konica Big Mini with color film, and a small 2 megapixel casio digital camera. That is what these were taken with. It takes me a while to get anywhere when I am walking by myself, since there is so much to photograph. Not much of it will make it online though.
*I spent some time looking at the top two photographs today. It is interesting what I seem to be interested in. There is a sort of game to those pictures, and I want to keep playing it.
