Nao and Chika at dinner tonight in Shimokitazawa. Chika was one of Mitsugu Onishi’s students. We are all photographers. Also, the okonomiyaki was good.

Did it have to come to this?
Did it really? Perhaps it was part of the natural evolution of things. Bessa R2–> Leica M6TTL–> Leica MP. I went to Map Camera last night right after work to hand over what never feels like real money in my hands for a german-made luxury camera. The main reason why I now have this camera is due to two reasons- One, because I wanted it, one of the best cameras ever made (judging from all the propaganda online). And Two, because at this point, with minimal expenses and no girlfriend or wife or child, I could buy it. But I will use it, as I am a user and too poor and not interested in being a collector. After the (used) camera purchase I headed over to Yodobashi Camera and grabbed four 20-packs of Fuji Presto film. Now I am ready to go.
Why silver?? Because it stands out better in reflections and also likely draws people’s eyes to the camera when out shooting. I like those photos where they look up at the lens when the shutter is fired. Adds something special to a photo I think.

bedtime for bonzo
Last night I was sitting around and thinking about what I would really like- and that was lots of sleep. Since I can’t sleep in, I decided to go to bed before 10pm. And it worked. I got lots of sleep, and had an extra half hour in the morning. But I don’t want it to be a habit. Maybe if the weather was better I would not feel so tired recently.
