Did it really? Perhaps it was part of the natural evolution of things. Bessa R2–> Leica M6TTL–> Leica MP. I went to Map Camera last night right after work to hand over what never feels like real money in my hands for a german-made luxury camera. The main reason why I now have this camera is due to two reasons- One, because I wanted it, one of the best cameras ever made (judging from all the propaganda online). And Two, because at this point, with minimal expenses and no girlfriend or wife or child, I could buy it. But I will use it, as I am a user and too poor and not interested in being a collector. After the (used) camera purchase I headed over to Yodobashi Camera and grabbed four 20-packs of Fuji Presto film. Now I am ready to go.
Why silver?? Because it stands out better in reflections and also likely draws people’s eyes to the camera when out shooting. I like those photos where they look up at the lens when the shutter is fired. Adds something special to a photo I think.

I also went to MAPCAMERA at PM 8:00 yesterday. Thers was no MP what you wanted to buy. I thought you bought it. That figures!
Your reason to buy LEICA is same of mine. I also went to YODOBASHI, and bought some films, and shot some photos in Shinjuku with M6.
