hello again
yes when family comes to town, I get lots more peanut butter than I can probably eat for a long time. The tubs are super family size. I did not see any other folks on the yamanote line with a walmart bag and 4 american pounds (1.81kg canadian) of skippy inside.
What else about my recent times? Well, I like my new Leica more than I thought I would. The slightly defective shutter speed dial will get fixed and that is covered by map camera’s warranty. For that kind of money, it had better work perfectly. Later this month I will get my Bessa R2 back from the shop.
Yesterday I went to the Tokyo Metro Musem of Photography to see the show I saw a few weeks ago. Walking through Daikanyama, I found one of those overpriced yet beautiful artbook stores, the kind with oversized books to the ceiling on white shelves with dark wood floors, 12 foot glass doors with acrylic clear door handles and two beautiful arty girls behind the counter. The kinds that wear their hair up and have boxy glasses with long wool pleated skirts. I bought a photo book on the spur of the moment, and paid twice for what it must go for in the states. The book is ” No Title Here “, a collection of photographs by Jeff Mermelstein , published by powerHouse Books. Everyonce in a while I come acorss work that hits me and forces me to re-think what I am working on, and that’s what this book did.
>>>>Update! The forementioned bookstore is called hacknet.
