fit for a king

Tonight at the grocery store I found english muffins! I never go into grocery stores. If I buy something, like fruit, I forget I have it and then it is too late. In my fridge I have a still un-opened bottle of orange drink from March, two cans of canned peaches from last October, a bottle of Bull Dog brand tonkatsu sauce from maybe last november, and two bottles of pepsi I got tonight. Not to mention the 70 rolls of film I still need to develop. In a cabinet I have a big tub of skippy peanut butter (thanks Jason!), some of which will go on those muffins for breakfast.
I shall eat like royalty!
British royalty!
Where did you find the english muffins?! Since I just moved to a city that’s part of actual civilization, I’ve finally found a bakery that has bagels, but still no english muffins. I am also still searching for whole-grain bread, and hamburger/hotdog buns…

At the Maruetsu near my station. I was happy. They were 136 yen, not too bad but then again at home you can get something like 6 for 50 cents on sale. I went in to buy some fruit, but I just can’t get over the prices… 2 dollars for one apple? 4 bucks for a small plastic container of grapes? Granted the quality of the fruit is excellent, but how much do those little foam sleeves add into the price…? I did buy a 2 dollar peach though.

Yeah the english muffins are grand aren’t they. That was my breakfast for some time, english muffin or croissant with espresso. Get one of those stove-top espresso machines and you’re in business.
