chotto mat-te

Filed under: Photography — John @ 8:27 pm

just getting things done lately. I think I need to be back to school on the 25th, but I later heard maybe the 29th. I hope it is that one.
Yesterday I went to Roonee, a curiously named photo gallery and photo exhibition supply shop in Shinjuku. 40 mats cut exactly the way I need them to be at 1380 yen is not exactly cheap- although the 500 yen fee to have them delivered to my door is cheaper than the train fare to go pick them up. The actual problem is if I need to buy 40 more plain mats sans window to make a … crap I forgot the word.. The kind of mat where it is hinged by acid free tape at the top, and you attach the photo to the back mat and then put it in the frame. A Book-mat? something like that. Those plain mats are 980 yen each. Thats looking to be a lot of money for something you won’t even see. I went to a large art supply store in shinjuku and priced mats near the size I need, and they were 780 yen each. I would still have to cut them myself. Maybe I don’t need mats behind my photos, just in front.
