best-tie-ever

Filed under: General — John @ 8:45 pm

I got more attention at school the other day wearing this tie than I thought I would. Part of me wondered if it might be too much but everyone liked it. I found it at a used clothes trendy shop in Lincoln. Someone applied/sewed a purple skull and crossbones thing onto a golden tie from the 1970s and then later I bought it. It says “Gimbels” on the back of the tie and on a smaller tag below it says “100% imported polyester”.

Imported, so you know that’s the good shit.

  1. Did you get it at Ozone?

  2. No actually I got it at a new shop kind of like the Ozone- cleverly called “The Black Market”. They buy sell and trade trendy used clothes, because thats what the booming new emo crowd wants. Mannn they are everywhere in Lincoln now around campus and the coolest accessory besides a faded black 1980s band shirt and the glasses is of course a Japanese Girlfriend. Japanese Girlfriends provide homely white guys with mad street cred in the alternative scene.

  3. Do they sell Japanese girlfriends at ‘The Black Market’ too?

No they are most often found on campus. The Black Market was/is a pretty nice little shop though. They gave me 50 bucks in store credit for some clothes I had not worn in a while which was great. Also I like the fact that they are in Golds downtown. I wish that more independent little shops would keep going in downtown, and in those old department stores in partiucular.

Lest I sound bitter I too have a thing for faded band t-shirts and the frames of my glasses are near “emo” proportions. As for the Japanese Girlfriend that is something that I do not have.
