a busy month ahead
Here it is summer vacation and August is looking to be as busy as any other month so far-
Among things on my schedule:
-Printing all the prints for my photo exhibition which will open on the 30th in Shinjuku. I see that I will have to get good quickly at printing on fiber paper, as my wallet is not going to allow for too many mistakes. Paper is not cheap. I also need to possibly get my work matted and have 4 large prints made from some half frame negatives.
- I will be saying goodbye to good old 102 Maison do Fleur here in Nakawagura, Matsudo. I will be moving a mile away to a new place near Kamihongo station. How near? Two minutes by foot. Nah, who am I kidding— One Minute. My place now is 15 minutes and three very steep hills from my closest station, Kita Matsudo. From the new place I can still walk to school each morning in about 10. So while I am printing I also need to get packing and all the other preperations that go with moving in Japan, including the cost ahem bribe that I must pay to the real estate agency for letting me move into their building.
- I almost forgot, for 3 or 4 days in August I will go to Hachijyo jima, an island that is a one night boat trip south of Tokyo. In days past it was a prision-island, mostly for political prisioners from all over Japan. The island culture that they created is said to be quite interesting. That and the sushi has been promised to be awesome.
Hey John-
My apartment is only three minutes from Shinyurigaoka eki, on the odakyu line. Paying key money, deposit, etc is going ot be painful!
Good luck with preparing for the exhibition! I’m looking forward to checking it out.
I’m moving soon, too
