My legs are sore from Saturday’s sports day, namely from my participation in the relay race. I raced against six seventh graders and out-ran only one 12 year old girl. Maybe if Kevin-sensei was on top of his game in the first leg of the relay the teacher’s team might have done better.
And now my arms are sore because they helped me get up from where ever I was sitting on Sunday since my legs would not cooperate without protesting.
Man, I need to exercise more. Or at least, some.

This is the view out my front window looking north. Despite a beautiful day, the window is firmly shut due to the smell. Yesterday was the day that the onion field was fertilized with manure.
It smells BAD.

That’s a picture of the green onion field across the street from my apartment.
It is about 50 feet from the front door of my apartment, making it the spot that I will bolt out to when the expected big earthquake hits Tokyo. Ahem, I mean, Matsudo.
See, I tell everyone that I live in Tokyo (except for those who actually DO live in Tokyo) because that keeps things simple. Matsudo is what I’d consider a suburb of Tokyo— The offical city boundary makes Matsudo roughly half the size of my hometown: Lincoln, Nebraska. The offical population of Matsudo (474,048) is similar to that of Omaha. Despite mathmatical figures that suggest otherwise, my neck of the woods is pretty comfortable. Just a little far from the station…
