Last night, with the help of 4500 yen I bought a vintage 1998 Nikon Coolpix 900 digital camera from Karen Nakamura. This came about as a desire to simplify the process of puting photographs onto this journal.
Why not a new camera?
I had 4500 reason to go with this one, all of them worth one yen each. As you may have noticed, for all the talk of living a photographic based lifestyle that I do, all of the photos so far on this site have been taken with the camera in my phone. You might have also noticed that those photos, fuzzy little pictures including but not limited to images of fake-punches to my face, are not exactly testaments of art concerning the Human Experience.
Therefore with the aqqusition of this 1.3 mega pixel beast I promise to continue to post photos of equal banality, just now in slightly higher quality.
I hope to put some of the "art" up next week. I want to begin scanning some prints and post them here to this page.
Still getting used to the words 'vintage' and 'digital' in the same sentence. But being from '98 it sure does qualify.
